"Helping people retire after the hard yards and knowing I played a part to make it happen - that's a great feeling."

Working with clients is a blend of mentoring, coaching, problem-solving — and getting couples and families on the same page about money.

I'm always interested in my client's stories and getting to know them beyond the dollars in their bank account and investments.

Outside of work, I'm married with two primary school aged kids, and we live a rural lifestyle on our land in Adelaide. Our family loves getting into the outback and exploring remote locations off the beaten track. From Oodnadatta to Esperance, we're always seeing new parts of Australia.

Being outdoors, close to the wildlife, meeting great characters along the way while stoking up a good campfire, and having a cook-up is my kind of life.

On the weekends, I enjoy knocking a golf ball around at my local club, chasing my kids around to sporting clubs, and catching up with friends for long BBQs. I enjoy AFL and am the team manager for our local U11 team. I'm also a tragic Crows fan.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Greg Mortimer and cohort Tim Macartney-Snape – the first Australians to climb Everest, no oxygen tanks, forced to take new route, with borrowed gear as their original supplies were lost in an avalanche they survived. You cant push the limits more than that.

Greg described the descent: “I can still feel the wind from that night. It was as black as the inside of a cow at first, then the moon came up. I don’t really know where the energy came from for us. There’s gravity, you’ve got gravity on your side. But you’re cut off from reality, like you’re moonwalking, almost like floating in space.”
